DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION?

DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION?

We have an answer!
Below you will find answers to the most common questions you may hae about your local library.

Q: "How do I access my library account?"

A: Click on the “Our Catalog” button on the homepage (under the "Library Links" section), then click on “Please Login” at the top right corner.

Your username is your library card number. Ask the library staff for your password, it will probably be either your address numbers or the last four digits of your phone number. You are able to change it to something you can remember, if you would like.

Then go to “Your Account” in the top right corner. There, you can see what items you have checked out and have previously checked out. You can also reserve and renew items. Here you can even change or update your information and preferences.

From here you can also search the library’s catalog. If you go up to the search bar at the top of the page and type in something, such as a subject of interest like “crafts” or an author you like or even a specific title, you will get results of the items we have here at the library. You can also see if they’re checked out and you can place reserves, too.

Q: "Can I reserve books from home?"

A: Yes! Sign-in to your library account and search the title you would like to place a hold on. Expand the record, then press the blue "Place Hold" button beneath the cover image. On the next screen, find and select the next "Place Hold" button.

Q: "Is there a separate study area in the library?"

A: Yes. There is a small study room available for scheduled use. Call ahead of your visit to ensure the room is open for use at (989) 843-6522 or ask the librarians at the circulation desk to pencil you in at your desired date and time.

Q: "Do you have a fax machine?"

A: Yes. It costs $1 for every 5 pages to send. To receive a fax it is $1 per page. Our fax number here is (989) 843-0078.

Q: Do you have Wi-Fi?

A: Yes. Our Wi-Fi is free for public use, no library card necessary. You can also bring your own computer to use at any of our tables.

Do I need a library card to use the computers?

A: Yes. All patrons must have a library card before they can use the computers. Children under 18 must have their own library card with an internet permission slip on file. When applying for a library card, either a parent or legal guardian must accompany the child. Please bring your driver's license with you.

When I rent the community room, what comes with it?

A: There is a $50 deposit to rent out the community room, and it comes with a refrigerator, sink, microwave, tables, and chairs.

Due to COVID, we are unable to rent out the comminuty room at the moment. We will be sure to let you know when it's available for rent again.

Q: Can someone help me with the computer/Internet?

A: Yes, to the best of our ability.

Q: How do I get a library card?

A: If you are under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you with their drivers license. In order to use the internet you must have an internet permission slip on file. Ask for one when you apply for your card.
Note: The library staff is not responsible for what your child checks out or views on the Internet.
